our members

Every story needs heroes. These are ours.

enhancing lives

Our job is to recognize our members’ God-given gifts and help them be everything that God wanted them to be.

Meet our members. They are unique, gifted children of God. While their common denominator is they were born with intellectual disabilities, they have tremendous ability and live out their life with joy. They are adult-bodied people with developmental disabilities, yet they demonstrate incredible compassion for others and work diligently to provide deep meaning to our community.

They teach us to embrace each day with unrequited enthusiasm. And here’s something you may not know about them. They have tremendous ability; they are the spirit-filled lovers of life, and they’d love to build a friendship with you. Let’s meet a couple.

Member Spotlight

Our Why.

These members, and so many others, are our Why. They are the heartbeat of Wings. Their joy and desire to do good propels us each day.

We want our members to be happy and purposeful. We want them to be engaged with life. We want people to surround them with love. We don’t want to worry every day ‘who’s going to watch after her?’ or ‘who's going to be his advocate?’

God created us to support and love each other. He created everyone uniquely. We’ve seen firsthand how much joy our Members bring to the community. We can see their individualized interests and abilities, and we simply channel that in a way that helps them thrive.

If that’s a mission that resonates with you, then we’d love to introduce you to our incredible community. We’re always looking for ways to expand our mission and enrich lives for those we serve. It’s soul-filling work, and we have opportunities to tap into volunteering, giving, advocating or simply celebrating the hope and joy that’s ever-present within our walls.

“Our job is to recognize their God-given gifts and help them to be everything that God created them to be. It takes a structured program that’s safe and provides deep meaning. And that’s exactly why Wings is the vibrant community our families are looking to involve their adult child with developmental disabilities. We are called to love our members unconditionally.”
