spreading our wings

By focusing on abilities instead of disabilities, those with developmental disabilities can step into community gaps and influence people in positive ways. Wings is structured with the understanding that everyone is a unique individual with varied interests, so we provide life-skill training to help them move towards independence.

Spreading our Wings is a community outreach program that gets members out in the community doing volunteer work at other local nonprofits. Currently, the members make cards for service workers in the community, fold clothes for a local foster family resource center and decorate lunch sacks for a meal service ministry for the homeless.

Last year Spreading Our Wings included 67 members serving more than 15,435 volunteer hours to the benefit of our community partners and their beneficiaries.
